The Friends of Gulick Park, with the help of the L.E.S. Ecology Center, Grand Opening and Henge Tables, have launched a campaign on Kickstarter to buy an outdoor ping pong table as part of an effort to restore Luther Gulick Park in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The group needs to raise $4,200 by May 16, also known as "Take Back Our Park Day." The $4,200 will be used for the purchase and installation of the table. Any additional money raised will go toward maintenance of the table and the supply of paddles and balls.

This Saturday, May 8th, American Youth Table Tennis Organization (AYTTO), NYC & Company (NYCGO) and Spin New York have joined together to host the fourth annual NYC Mayor’s Table Tennis
Tournament. This exciting one day event will be held at Spin New York in Manhattan. The tournament features five separate divisions
divided by age and gender. The champion of each division will win the
prestigious NYC Mayor’s Cup, and be crowned the official city champion. Any ping pong players up for the challenge of being named the best in NYC are invited to come out and compete. Please register at (AYTTO) by the end of the day tomorrow. The tournament starts at 9:30 AM this Saturday.

Started in 2007, Naked Ping Pong, the brainchild of Jonathan Bricklin, Bill Mack, and Franck Raharinosy, was a weekly ping pong party in a 4,000 square foot Tribeca loft where a wide variety of ping pong freaks and geeks got together to battle it out. Among the professional players who attended the weekly events where Kazuyuki "Kaz" Yokoyama, aka the Kazmanian Devil, and Wally Green. A diverse group of players and spectators enjoyed tasty refreshments while celebrating their love of ping pong in New York's underground ping pong scene.
